The Sounds of Music

There is nothing quite seeing and hearing your child (along with others) sing at Beneroya Hall in Seattle. I had that wonderful opportunity this past Monday. My daughter's school and eight other schools performed at the Festival of Catholic High School Choirs. It was an amazing and absolutely beautiful evening. There was so much talent up on the stage and 742 kids who truly seemed to be enjoying their experience.

"Ice Ice Baby

A few weeks ago, our part of town was hit by a decent snow and ice storm. While it played havoc with life (in the best of ways as well as providing challenges), it did make for some interesting shooting opportunities. Included in this blog are a few of the "ice shots" from that time.

Senior Pictures in December!

Brrrrrrr--shooting senior pictures in December is quite an adventure! We lucked out on a wonderfully cloudy, yet dry, day. I am happy with the end result--and it obviously helps when the subject is a natural in front on the lens!

Thursday Shoot

Headed out today with friends to see what we could find through the lens. Here are the fruits of our afternoon. The rain cut our day short--but always fun to be behind the camera. Today's shots centered around aperture and words.

While my blog will take me to many locations, include numerous people and capture all manner of zany images--this will always be my favorite. My dear daughter at her best--relaxed and goofing for me in front of the camera. I had just purchased the backdrop and softbox when I shot this. (backdrop color: espresso) I had not yet ironed out the creases--and I am still working on how to store it so the creases are not so obvious. The lighting worked well on the face--though could use a bit more on the left side of the image.
